Happy Birthday Allison!

Happy birthday to Allison!

Here she is at our wedding last year dancing with a screaming and very tired baby Grant.

We hope your special day is fantastic, and we're so glad Jeff is finally home to celebrate with you.

Puppies are like Babies

I have developed a completely new respect for people who have children. Babies (of any kind) are hard work. Here's my list of how Killer is like a human baby:
1. I have to constantly watch her
2. I have to make sure she's fed everyday
3. I'm constantly cleaning her face
4. I have to help her go potty
5. She cries, especially when she's left alone
6. I have to get up in the middle of the night with her
7. I love to cuddle with her
8. I have to clean up after her
9. She always needs something (usually when it’s most inconvenient to me)
10. She needs lots of attention
11. I have to clip her finger nails for her
12. She hates to be left alone
13. She’s teething
14. She gets into lots of trouble
15. I have to take her to the doctor
16. She’s adorable
Feel free to add to the list.

phantom and puppy update

Two Saturdays ago I had the wonderful opportunity to see Phantom of the Opera at the "Fabulous Fox Theatre" with my sweet mother-in-law Susie. Here we are right after Killer met her grandma and right before we left for the show.
We had so much fun, and I'm so glad Brad didn't want to go so I was able to spend some quality time with my new momma.

On another note, Killer is 2 months old today but is still just as tiny as ever. Since I'm going to be starting work soon we're trying to get her used to staying at home by herself for a few hours everyday. So I perused CraigsList and found this awesome baby gate for our kitchen, where we had planned on leaving her. Before we found the gate we just put her in our spare bathroom whenever we had to leave. It's fine for a little bit, but it's not that big. In the kitchen she could run around and play to entertain herself while we're not home. The only problem is that the gate doesn't quite contain her. Take a look (don't forget to pause the music on the playlist):

That opening where she's squeezing through is 2 inches! I'm really hoping she starts growing fast so we can start leaving her in there without worrying she'll get out.

Here's our first family photo.

Happy Belated Birthday Thomas!

Happy Birthday to my brother Thomas! His birthday was Thursday the 8th and he turned 15! I believe he's old enough to drive!

He got this cute little beagle mix for his big day.

He named it Buddy. Buddy is one day younger than Killer and about 3 times bigger.

Happy late birthday Thomas!!

The Pup and the 4th

Here's our adorable puppy.
 Her name is

Killer!

Brad's dream has always been to name his dog Killer, so we did it. Her name does not at all fit her appearance or personality. She's the sweetest thing you've ever seen. She's a Chihuahua, Cocker Spaniel mix and probably doesn't weigh more than 2 or 3 pounds right now. It'll be exciting to see how big she grows up to be.
This is her first bath. She did so well. No crying at all. We also took her swimming over the weekend (no pictures, unfortunately) and she loved it.

Brad and I went to my parents' house for the 4th and on Saturday morning we went to a parade where I got red, white, and blue mardi gras beads. I gave them to Killer so she could be patriotic.
Isn't she just too cute?! She's only 6 weeks old so she sleeps a lot, but she loves to play when she wakes up from her naps.

Brad and I at the parade.

On Sunday Brad, Elizabeth, and I went to see fireworks at a country club.

We had an awesome 4th of July weekend, and we love our newest addition to our little family.
